Why siting comes before design
Most pen failures in Zimbabwe trace back to where the structure sits, not how it's built. Get the site wrong and no amount of good carpentry saves it.
The three checks worth doing first
- Drainage — walk the site after the first hard rain of the season, not before.
- Wind — orient openings away from the prevailing wind to cut down on respiratory issues.
- Shade — afternoon shade matters more than morning shade in most of Zimbabwe's climate zones.
